I am a 24 handicap. Is a fitting wasted on me?
The opposite, in our experience. A lie angle two degrees off costs a 24 handicap more strokes than it costs a scratch player, because the scratch player has a repeatable enough strike to be consistently wrong in one direction and can aim around it. Roughly two thirds of the golfers we see are between 12 and 25 and it is the band where a single correct measurement changes the most.
What if the measurements say my clubs are fine?
Then that goes on the sheet, we bill the session fee we agreed to before you arrived, and you go home with your clubs and a written record of their condition. It happens about one session in seven. You still get the free re-check reminder eleven months later.
Do I have to buy the clubs from you?
No, and it does not void anything. The spec sheet is yours. Several clients a year take ours to an online retailer and come back for assembly at our labour rate, or do not come back at all. We would rather that than write a vague recommendation you can only act on here.
How far ahead do I need to book?
Weekday afternoons often have something inside a week. Saturday slots in April and May typically run three weeks out, and whole-bag Fridays are the tightest because there is only one a week. If you are trying to be ready for a spring league, call in February.
Why do you measure my old clubs before showing me anything new?
Because a recommendation is a comparison and a comparison needs a baseline. It also regularly changes the answer. A set that has drifted a degree and a half strong will produce the exact yardage-gap complaint that sends people shopping, and bending it back costs about fifty dollars.
What is the wet-face test and why does nobody else do it?
We take a block of wedge shots with a damp clubface and a clean ball, and record the spin drop against the dry reading. Nobody does it because indoor bays are dry and it makes worn wedges look bad. That is precisely the point: a groove set that still spins fine dry can lose two thousand rpm the moment there is moisture, which is what you meet on any Kentucky morning before about ten o clock.
Can you fit me if I only play a handful of times a year?
Yes, though we will steer you toward the cheapest useful version of it. For an occasional player the value is almost entirely in lie angle, length and grip size, which is a single-club iron session rather than a whole-bag Friday. We will say so rather than sell you the larger appointment.
Do you fit left-handed golfers properly?
Both bays run either side without rearranging anything and the component wall carries left-handed stock rather than ordering it in. Roughly one session in nine here is left-handed, which is close to the true rate and higher than most shops manage.
Is the session run indoors or outside?
Both, when the weather cooperates. Testing starts in a bay because the measurement is more controlled, then wedge, fairway wood and hybrid candidates get confirmed on the grass paddock behind the building. Below about 42 degrees we skip the outdoor block, because ball behaviour stops being comparable and you would be paying for noise.
How long does a build take once I order it?
Four to seven working days for a full iron set if the components are on the wall, faster for a single wedge or putter. Special-order heads add whatever the supplier adds, and we will give you their date rather than a padded one of our own.
What does the annual re-check actually involve?
Twenty-five minutes, no charge, no obligation. We take the same readings in the same order as your original intake and put the two pages side by side. Most visits end with a small bend or a regrip. Some end with nothing at all, and those are the ones that make the record worth keeping.
Do you work on clubs you did not sell?
All the time. Bench work is a separate line of business here and Wednesday is the day it gets priority. Bring in anything: bends, reshafts, regrips, extractions, swingweight matching. We will not lecture you about where you bought it.
Are your fitters paid on commission?
No. Salary plus an annual share tied to the number of clients who come back for the free re-check. It is an imperfect measure but it is the only one we could think of that rewards being right a year later instead of being persuasive on the day.
Can two of us come at once?
Yes. Two bays means two golfers can be measured simultaneously. Beyond two people, book the weekday evening four-person block, which is three hours for $420 and gives everybody a baseline and a written sheet with the testing time shared out.

Ask before you book, not after
We would much rather spend ten minutes on the phone telling you that a session is not worth your money than take a deposit from somebody who leaves disappointed. There is no script at the desk and nobody is measured on how many appointments they convert.
The most common answer we give on that call is that the caller needs a lie-angle check and a regrip, not a fitting, and that it will cost them about seventy dollars. That is a fine outcome.
